Anuraga Karikkin Vellam Review
Anuraga Karikkin Vellam is one of the main releases in Mollywood today and it is coming from a debutant director named Khalid Rahman. ABCD fame Naveen Bhaskar had written the screenplay of this movie and it was produced by August Cinemas owned by Prithvraj Sukumaran, Santhosh Sivan, Arya and Shaji Nadeshan. But the lack of promotion and not so good marketing never created a pre-release anticipation level for this movie and people was never really aware about this film till the release of its teaser. Asif Ali and Biju Menon played the lead in this movie which only came in to the attention of the audience after the trailer and song release.
The story of this film revolves around the characters played by Asif Ali and Biju Menon. Biju Menon played the father character of Asif Ali in this movie and Asha Sharath playing his mother character. Biju Menon playing a police officer named Reghu and Asha Sharath is his wife Suma. Abhilash is their son who is an engineering graduate in Architecture. He is yet to find a permanent job and he is in a relationship with a girl named Elizabeth.
But Abhilash finds her extra care for him irritating and break up with her for that reason. Elizabeth was in no mood to break up with him and she tries her best to hold him back. At the same time his father Reghu accidently saw his past lover and wanted to say sorry to her for what he did to her years before. He tries to get her contact number and some interesting twists happens at that time in his life and from there on the movie moves forward showing us the life of both father and son.
Another debutant had showed his potential here with this flick. Khalid Rahman had assisted Film Makers like Anwar Rasheed and Amal Neerad and actually it seems that he had got the trick from them to make a film that satisfies all. Anuraga Karikkin Vellam is a complete family entertainer which entertains Family audience and youngsters alike. The director knows how to connect with younger audience as well as family audience and the way he narrated the story is a good example of that skill.
The screenplay by Naveen Bhaskar was a really good one which developed a simple plot in a very interesting way with all elements that makes the audience sit through till the very end. The director and writer never let any loose ends in the way they told the story in a smooth pace, mixing up comedy, romance and emotional scenes in right proportions. The main highlight of this movie is the way they included all the subtle things we see in our family life, and specifically in our own homes. All people can relate to such things and the writer and director had used such elements in the friendship scenes, romantic scenes and in comedy scenes as well.
The performances from all the artists were great. Biju Menon once again showed that he is indeed one of the finest in the business now. He played the arrogance and then soft side of the character Reghu with utmost easiness. Asif Ali also played the character named Abhilash very well and we can say that this one may be one of his best performances in his career till now.
Asha Sharath was too good as Suma and artists like Sreenath Bhasi, Soubin Shaheer, Sudheer Karamana, Sudhi Koppa etc also did a great job. But the best performance in this film had came from the heroine of this movie and its Rajisha Vijayan who had made a fabulous debut as heroine here. The character Elizabeth was safe in her hand and she had given it such perfection that we can’t imagine another actress in place of her once we finished watching the movie.
Jimshi Khalid had done a great job as the cinematographer of this movie and his frames really created the feel good atmosphere that needed to tell this story. Prashant Pillai’s music was really refreshing as well. It was soothing to the ears and created a momentum for the movie. Noufal Abdulla’s cuts provided the essential smoothness for the film, which is a must when tells a subject filled with family emotions.
On the whole, Anuraga Karikkin Vellam is one of the best family movies released here in Mollywood and it will never disappoint you if you love to watch class entertainers. It is more or less like we are watching our own life on screen and never miss this experience.
